Titeflex Teamsters Win Big!

March 4, 2010, Titeflex Teamsters attended a meeting with company officials, Mayor Sarno and Recording Secretary Ralph Galarneau. The city approved a special tax incentive agreement for Titeflex Corporation that will keep the manufacturing company and its 100 employees in East Springfield rather than moving to South Carolina. Business Agent Galarneau attended Springfield City Council meeting the Monday before on behalf of the Teamster members and urging the Tax Break to be approved, the City Council voted unanimously to approve the measure. Business Agent Galarneau stated " This will save and create additional jobs for our members". Principal Officer Frank A Rossi contacted the Mayors office thanking him and the City Council for there actions to protect Jobs within our community. 

The agreement still needs approval from the State Economic Assistance Coordinating Council, Teamsters Local 404 is monitoring the situation, the meeting is scheduled for March 31, 2010 in Boston.
